SOUTHFIELD, Mich.-The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team will be back on the courts on Friday, September 6th at 11:00am EST. The Blue Devils (2-0) will host the Huskies of Michigan Technological University (0-0).
In their two matches this season, the Blue Devils have yet to give up a team point. The first match of the season saw the Blue Devils win 4-0 vs Taylor University (Ind.), and in their second match, win by a score of 7-0 vs. Adrian College (Mich.). LTU will have their hands full when the Huskies come to town.
Head Coach Stephen Behmlander knows it will be a good test for the Blue Devils and had this to say about the upcoming matchup, "Michigan Tech is always a formidable opponent. We've never beaten them, but played very well each time we compete with them. Michigan Tech is a D2 team in the tough GLIAC Conference, if we're going to get better as players and as a team, we need to continually play better teams...Michigan Tech is certainly one of those. There is no question we will have to play at the top of our abilities if we expect to compete in this match." He is excited to see the Blue Devils in action vs. the Huskies and is looking forward to a very competitive match.
In what should be a match filled with a lot of competitive matches, Coach Behmlander believes the #1 singles match should be, "one to keep your eye on." The Blue Devils will be in action at the City Southfield Parks and Recreation tennis courts, as long as the weather allows. The match is set to begin at 11:00am EST.
