The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer program continues it's WHAC games with a match-up at home against Aquinas College (Mich.) on Wednesday, October 9th at 7:30 p.m.. The Blue Devils also play at Cleary University (Mich.) on Saturday, October 12th where kick off is set for 4:00 p.m.
The Blue Devils (7-3-0, 3-1-0) only have one in conference loss to Madonna (Mich.) where they fell 2-1. Following that loss, they are now on a two game win streak where they have beat both Michigan - Dearborn and Concordia (Mich.) 1-0.
In the front of the team is Katelyn Mather, who has nine goals this season, averaging almost one a game. Alayne Nyboer leads the team in assists with five while in net is Rebecca Almandoz who has 42 saves this season alone.
The Aquinas Saints (7-2-1, 2-1-0) also only have one lone loss in conference opponents, which is against the #3 team in the nation, The University of Northwestern Ohio, where they fell 3-1. The Saints are led by the efforts of Hannah Crum who has 18 points this season from eight goals and two assists. Right behind her is Filippa Struxsjo who has ten points. Jenna Smith also leds the team in assists and its 17th in the country for her seven total assists this season.
Cleary (4-5-0, 1-2-0) plays Lourdes University (Ohio) on Wednesday before hosting LTU at their place on Saturday. They come in following a 7-0 loss to UNOH and a 3-0 win against Michigan-Dearborn. Leading them is Harley Gorzelski who has four goals this season.
