SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team defeated Concordia (Mich.) University – Ann Arbor 1-0 on Saturday night at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich. The win pushed Lawrence Tech to 3-1 in the conference and 7-3 overall.
The Blue Devils' DiOnna Hill notched the game winner in the 66th minute to secure the Blue Devils seventh win of the season. It is her seventh goal of the season and her second career game-winning goal. Dahlia Jerovsek finished with a team high three shots on goal while Madison Greenlee finished with an assist in 79 minutes of action.
Lawrence Tech (7-3, 3-1) gave themselves ample chances in the first chance, but Anna Roman of the Cardinals made five saves to help keep LTU off the board. Lawrence Tech's Rebecca Almandoz finished the first half off with three saves, keeping Concordia off the sheet. Concordia (4-5, 1-2) had their chances in the second half, but the Blue Devils came up big each time as Almandoz finished with five saves on five shots on goal. Roman finished with eight saves on nine shots for the Cardinals.
The Blue Devils host Aquinas (Mich.) College on Wednesday, October 9 at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
