HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Devils opened the night with a back to back goal before Madonna (2-8, 0-5) found the back of the net. Then, they went on a 10 goal streak, grabbing a running clock in the last five minutes of the half.

The second half of the game saw another Blue Devil back to back goal, however, the Crusaders answered immediately with two of their own. However, finding their rhythm again, they went on a five goal steak, with four of them being assisted. After one last Madonna goal, the Blue Devils took control of the rest of the game, assisting their last four goals. It started off with a Gagnon goal assisted by Kaylee Patterson. Gagnon found the back of the net again, assisted by Sherry off a missed shot. Then, Jordan Messing was fed by Gagnon for her second goal of the season with under three minutes to go. Gagnon ran the same play again, this time feeding Abbey Smentowski to seal the game 23-5.

Up next for the Blue Devils is a match at home against Bethel College (Ind.) on Wednesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. The pilots are 1-8 overall and 4-1 in the WHAC.
