GAYLORD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's golf team finished fourth in the Blue Devils Classic at the Tradition Course of the Treetops Resort on Tuesday, September 24. LTU posted a 676 team-score (326-330), 62 shots behind tournament champion Lake Superior State (Mich.) University.
Freshman Alex Manalang led the way for the Blue Devils after posting a 160 (83-77). Manasa Potluri followed the Peoria, Ariz. Native with a tie for 19th and a 169 (83-86) two-round score. Rachel Kristian finished tied in 23rd with a 171 (89-82). Julia LeFere took the 32nd spot after carding a 178 (91-87), while Lauren Hartline finished tied in 33rd with a 179 (94-85).
The tournament top five was rounded out by Indiana Wesleyan University with a 622 (315-307), Indiana Tech with a 626 (321-305), and on a tie for fifth were Bethel (Ind.) University and Madonna (Mich.) University with a 697.
Lawrence Tech B finished 11th with a 798 (402-396) team-score.
The Blue Devils will be back on the course on September 27-28 for the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season. The tournament will take place the Chemung Hills Golf Club in Howell, Mich.
