(RV) Women's Bowling Rolled Their Way to a 7th Place in the Orange and Black Classic Over the Weekend

CENTERVILLE, Ohio—The (RV) Lawrence Technological University women's bowling team  competed in the Orange and Black Classic over the weekend (Oct. 12-Oct. 13). The Blue Devils varsity team finished the day 7th out of 25 teams and the junior varsity team placed 7th out of eight teams.

The Blue Devils finished with a score of 4,261 in five team games, which was good enough for 5th overall in the team scores. They would then go on to play 16 Baker games. In the Baker games, the Blue Devils finished with a score of 2,675. This score placed them in 6th in all of the Baker games. The Blue Devils were knocked out of the tournament after loosing to No. 1 Pikeville (Ky.) in the quarterfinals. Their final score of 6,936 would give the Blue Devils a 7th place finish on the weekend.

Individually, Victoria Giardina led the Blue Devils with a total of 977 in her five games bowled. She was one pin away from tieing for second place, and the six pins away from first place. Her game high was 235 on the weekend. Also bowling well for the Blue Devils during the team games was Tresea Rost. Rost knocked down a total of 874 pins. The 874 total was good for 28th of 211 bowlers, including varsity and junior varsity.

The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20. They will be competing in the Western Shootout in Indianapolis, Ind.
