LIMA, Ohio—The Lawrence Technological University women's bowling team was in action this past weekend, competing in the Racer Classic. The Blue Devils competed on Saturday, September 21st and on Sunday September 22nd. After the two day competition concluded, the team rolled their way to a 3rd place finish.
On day one of the tournament, the ladies shot 4562 for five team games. Moving onto day two, the team rolled a 2860 for 16 Baker games. With a total of 7422, the Blue Devils qualified as the first seed entering match play.
In the first round of match play, the Blue Devils were defeated by Concordia (Mich.) in the semifinals. The team would bounce back vs. Wright State (Ohio) to claim the bronze.
Victoria Giardina was the Blue Devils' standout bowler this weekend. She rolled 990 for five games, which gave her an average of 198. This earned her 1st place and a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The Blue Devils will be back on the lane on Saturday, October 5th.
