FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Lawrence Technological University women's basketball team fell on the road against (4) Indiana Tech 79-64 on November 26th despite a third quarter defensive shut down of the Warriors.
Leading the team was Kendall Fisher who grabbed 20 points in the Blue Devils (7-3, 3-1) loss on Tuesday night. Right behind her was Hope Dollarhide with 15 points coming off the bench strong and going 7 for 12 inside the paint. Grabbing a double double and being a threat all over the court was Danielle Hanson who has 10 points and led the team with 12 rebounds.
The first half saw the Warriors ( 7-1, 4-0) and the Blue Devils keep pace with each other, with LTU only steps behind. Indiana Tech scored 45 to LTU's 30, largely due the the Warriors positive percentages in the paint at 46.(% and outside the three point line at 46%. While the BLue Devils hit 9 of their 10 free throws, the next half would be them making up for the deficit they were in.
Entering the third, the Blue Devils switched gears and dominated the court, only allowing five points from a letting up Warrior team. Lawrence Tech scored an impressive 21 points to the Indiana Tech five. They went into the fourth up by a single point, 51 - 50.
Lawrence Tech continued their lead for another eight minutes, being up by seven by one point. However, with five minutes left in the game, Indiana Tech finished strong like the way they started despite being stunned in the third to come back and win 79-64.
Up next, the Blue Devils have a few days off before heading back on the road to face Aquinas College (Mich.) on December 7th. The Saints (5-4, 3-0) are another formidable foe in the WHAC, coming off two narrows wins, the most recent of the two being a 43-40 win againast Lourdes University (Ohio).
