Men's Tennis Travels to St. Francis (Ind.) for a Match-up vs. the Cougars

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University men's tennis (1-1) team will be traveling to St. Francis University (Ind.) to take on the Cougars (0-6) on Thursday, September 12th at 3:00pm EDT. In their last match, the Blue Devils defeated the Bulldogs of Adrian College (Mich.) by a score of 4-3.

The men are coming off their first victory of the season, and will be looking to ride this momentum into this Wednesday's matchup vs. the Cougars. After the victory vs. Adrian College , Head Coach Steve Behmlander has noticed an increase in focus from his guys, "...we've had a terrific week of practice. They continue to work hard and are becoming smarter in their play. I see their tennis IQ increasing daily. They are beginning to make better decisions on court in different situations...Additionally, our freshmen are beginning to become comfortable, which lends itself to better on-court chemistry between doubles teams, increasing our success."

Behmlander has said he plans on making a few line-up changes for the match vs. Cougars, "(We will be moving) more to get kids slotted into their eventual line-up position. We're moving a couple of our singles players around and, with the success of our 2 doubles team v. Adrian, think we may have found a diamond in the rough. So we are cautiously optimistic as we move forward."

The Blue Devils will be going up against a St. Francis team who has struggled early on this season, but are not a team that the Blue Devils can overlook. "They are grinders and always in the match, no matter the eventual outcome, each time we play St. Francis, we always know we've been in a tough match," is what Behmlander had to say about their opponent.

Look for the Blue Devils to be confident heading into this matchup, and be aggressive during the doubles matches. This is a team who is excited to be back on the court, and want to get that second win of the season.
