HOWELL, Mich.-The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team came up short on the road vs. Cleary (Mich.) University (5-4, 3-2). The Blue Devils fall to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the WHAC after Saturday night's match-up. A strong second half by the Cougars was the difference in this match; the Cougars were able to score two goals in the second half, while holding the Blue Devils scoreless. The final score was 4-2 in favor of Cleary University.

LTU was able to get off to the start they were hoping for when senior Kevin Wright scored in the 6th minute, giving the Blue Devils the 1-0 advantage early on in the match. CU was able to get back to even in the 23rd minute. The Blue Devils did not keep the match tied for very long; in the 26th minute Bryce Nicholson connected for his first goal of the season off a perfectly placed pass from Juan Jaramillo. The Blue Devils were able to keep the goal advantage until Juan Gomez of CU found the back of the net in the 40th minute to make the score 2-2. This was all the action in the first half and both teams entered the break with the match tied up at two.

CU capitalized in the second half, and the Blue Devils did not. CU's leading goal scorer, David Tetaj, was able to strike twice: in the 55th minute and in the 83rd minute. The Cougars were able to hold the Blue Devils to a scoreless second half, and allowed the Cougars to defend their home turf and leave with a 4-2 victory over the Blue Devils.

LTU had plenty of scoring chances but could not find a way to find the back of the net in the second half. As a team, the Blue Devils took 21 shots and 12 of which were on goal. The Cougars took a total of nine shots, and five were on goal.

Head Coach Will Dyer was thought his team could have played alot better in the Saturday night match but said, "All the credit goes to Cleary; they outworked and outplayed us tonight."

The Blue Devils will be looking to bounce back on Wednesday, October 16th. They will be traveling to Rochester (Mich.) University for an afternoon matchup vs. the Warriors. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm.
