Blue Devils Travel to No. 7 Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) for Fourth Road Game to Start the Year

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University men's soccer team (0-3) will be on the road again this Saturday, September 7th, to square off against the No. 7 ranked Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) (1-2). Both teams will be looking to get on track as the Blue Devils have lost their first three matches of the season, and the Wolves have lost their last two.

Coming into this matchup, LTU has gone up against three nationally recognized programs in the NAIA, and have played these teams very tough. Head Coach Will Dyer had this to say about his team's mindset and attitude this week during practice, "We could easily be sulking, complaining and such as we are 0-3 but we have played 3 top tier NAIA programs and we've been very impressed with the spirit of our boys and how they continue to push each other and trust our process...." Trusting the process has been a theme for Coach Dyer and the Blue Devils this season. Part of this process is focusing on themselves, regardless of who the opponent is; "Were focusing on ourselves right now, looking to improve our technical and tactical play. Cardinal Stritch is a top NAIA program with some great players and top notch coaching, they are #7 for a reason," Dyer stated about the game plan for this Saturday.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm EDT, and it should be a very competitive match. The two programs entered the season with high expectations, and still have these expectations, despite the slow starts. This could be a key match to get the Blue Devils rolling for their 2019 campaign. The key to winning this game according to Dyer is, "We will need to play a full 90 at our potential, don't commit mistakes defensively, stay engaged and capitalize on our opportunities." Look for the Blue Devils to be aggressive from the kickoff, and do what they need to do to get their first victory of the year.
