GAYLORD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team finished second at the Blue Devils Classic at the Tradition Course in the Treetops Resort on Tuesday, September 24. The Blue Devils carded a 587 two-round team score (299-298). Lawrence Tech finished 28 shots short of the medalist team, Holy Cross (Ind.) College. The Saints shot a one-over-par 561 (284-277). Fellow Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competitor Madonna (Mich.) University rounded out the top three with a 598 (294-304).
Josh Stein and Eddie Sheehan led the team with All-Tournament honors. The Plymouth, Mich. native finished tied in third place with a 142 (73-69), while Sheehan took the fifth spot after carding a 144 (71-73). Kaleb Wiesner followed with a tie for 10th as he posted a 150 (78-72). Victor Quiennec finished tied in 14th with a 151 (77-74), while Zach Smith tied in 21st with a 154 (80-74).
Lawrence Tech B finished tied in fifth with a 620 team-score (316-304). Diego Courtney and Tanner Schnell were the top finishers of the team with a tie for 10th place after each posted a 150 two-round score.
The Blue Devils will be back on the course on September 30 at the USCB Innisbrook Invite in Palm Harbor, Fla. at the Copperhead Course.
