MARION, Ind.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team finished third at the two-round Indiana Wesleyan Invitational on Monday, September 9 at the Meshingomesia Country Club. Eddie Sheehan, from Lawrence Tech B, made it to the All-Tournament team as he took third place with a 151 (74-77).
The LTU Blue Devils posted a 650 (321-329) team score, 53 shots behind medalist Indiana Wesleyan University as the wildcats carded a 597 (298-299). Grace (Ind.) College rounded out the top three with a 636 (312-324). Lawrence Tech B finished fifth with a 662 (332-330).
Alex Gold and Josh Stein led Lawrence Tech's varsity team as they finished tied in 15th place after posting a 163 two-round score. Zach Smith followed with a tie for the 18th spot and a 164 (80-84), while Kaled Wiesner took the 21st place with a 166 (84-82). Tanner Schnell rounded out LTU's lineup with a 168 (79-89) as he finished 22nd.
Diego Courtney followed Sheehan on Lawrence Tech B with a 160 (80-80) two-round score and an 11th place finish. Jason Tanner took the 24th spot after carding a 178 (95-83), scoring his personal-best on round two. Paul Roberge finished 25th with a 180 (87-93), while Justin Stiegler tied in 26th place with a 181 (91-90).
The Blue Devils will be back on the course on September 13-14 to start conference play at the first WHAC Jamboree, hosted by Aquinas (Mich.) College. The tournament will take place in Lansing, Mich. at the Timber Ridge GC.
