SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team was ranked third in the 2019-20 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference coaches' preseason poll after receiving 120 points, announced the league office on Tuesday, August 13. The Blue Devils finished the WHAC Regular Season in second place with a 299.8 average score per round in three Jamborees. LTU also finished as runner-up on the WHAC Tournament on the spring with a 906 (+42) grand total in three rounds.
The University of Northwestern Ohio led the poll after receiving 11 first-place votes and 143 points. The Racers enter the 2019 season as the reigning champions of the WHAC Regular Season and WHAC Tournament. Indiana Tech with 127 points and one first-place vote, Aquinas (Mich.) College with 95 points, and Lourdes (Ohio) University with 89 completed the top five.
Following the top-five are Cleary (Mich.) University with 86 points, Siena Heights (Mich.) University with 82, Madonna (Mich.) University with 66, Cornerstone (Mich.) University with 47, Rochester (Mich.) University with 33, Concordia (Mich.) University – Ann Arbor with 30, and University of Michigan – Dearborn with 18
Lawrence Tech will open the 2019-20 season on Monday, September 9 at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational in Marion, Ind. The Blue Devils will play the first WHAC Jamboree on Friday, September 13, hosted by Aquinas, at the Timber Ridge Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
