FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill.—The (No.5) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's bowling team competed in the National Collegiate Team Match Games on Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st. The Blue Devils finished the weekend in 6th place out of 27 teams.
Day one of the competition had the bowlers of each team hit the lanes to roll six individual games to give the team a team score for each game. The Blue Devils, as a team knocked down a total of 6,049 pins in their six games (1030, 1101, 915, 1088, 983, and 932). Leading the Blue Devils in the individual games was Chad Stephan. Stephan rolled his way to a total of 1,296, which was good for 18th out of 218 bowlers. His individual game high was 252. Finishing right behind Stephan in 19th was Cody Johnston who knocked down one less pin than his Blue Devil teammate, 1,295. 8th is where the Blue Devils sat after one day of competition.
In the second day of competition the teams would roll 20 Baker Games. The Blue Devils would finish the 20 Baker Games with a total score of 10,356. This score was good for 6th best out of all the teams on day two.
The Blue Devils will be back on the lanes this Saturday, December 7th, competing in the WHAC Jamboree No. 3.
