LONDON, Ky. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's golf team finished the Bill Sergent Invitational after a 688 (339 | 349) on the 6,007 yard, par 72 Crooked Creek G.C. in London, Ky.
University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) won the event with a 632 (311 | 321), 15 strokes ahead of second place University of Northwestern Ohio.
Dori Watts led the way for Lawrence Tech as she finished in a tie for 14th place with a 167 (80 | 87) followed by Marcela Benavides (T20) with a 170 (88 | 82). Ana Magana shot a 175 (86 | 88) to fall into a tie for 31st. Alejandra Farias carded a 91 in round two to finish in a tie for 34th place after a 175 (85 | 91).
Lucia Pena of Cumberlands won the event a 7-over par 151 (74 | 77), one stroke ahead of Marissa Singer of St. Francis (Ind.).
Lawrence Tech is back on the course starting Sept. 25 at the two-day Madonna Invitational at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Mich.
