SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Josh Dirlam (SR/Spring Arbor, MI), Kirk Markowski (SR/Dryden, Ontario, CAN), and Miguel Sanchez (SR/Cadiz, Spain) of the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team were named 2016-17 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced last week.
Dirlam, Markowski, and Sanchez were three of 20 student-athletes at the NAIA level to earn the honor. To be eligible for this honor, golfers must maintain a 3.2 grade-point average, a stroke average under 78.0, participated in 50 percent of the team's competitions, and be of high moral character and in good standing at their university or college. Lawrence Tech is the only institution from the WHAC to earn these honors and the only NAIA school to have three student-athletes recognized.
Srixon/Cleveland awarded 260 All-America Scholars in NCAA Division I and 108 in NCAA Division II.
