INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's bowling team finished 15th of 66 at the 48th Annual Hoosier Classic | Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Lawrence Tech knocked over 5,534 pins, 477 pins behind first place finisher Lindenwood (Mo.) University. St. Ambrose (Iowa) University took second with 6,003 total pins followed by Newman (Kan.) University with 5,940 and Webber International (Fla.) University (5,918). Wichita State (Kan.) University rounded out the top-five with a total pin fall of 5,851.
Jericka Mazei paced LTU with 1,202 total pins, throwing games of 215, 128, 205, 214, 198 and 242 to place 25th. Hannah Gauthier finished in 74th after bowling 141, 181, 183, 230, 173 and 210 totaling 1,118.
Sara Schulz tallied a total pin fall of 1,093 to put her in 98th. Schulz bowled a game high 223 in her fourth game. Finishing in 115th for the Blue Devils was Melissa Sleda. Sleda knocked down 1,072 pins; her best throw a 244 in game two. Hayley Hysell also placed for LTU, recording a 131st finish after toppling 1,049 pins. Hysell tossed a tournament high 189 in her first game.
The Blue Devils return to the lanes on February 18 as they host the WHAC Championships in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
