INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's bowling team finished 26th of 78 this weekend at the 48th Annual Hoosier Classic | Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Lawrence Tech finished with 5,701 total pins, 574 pins behind first place finisher Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.). The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater brought home second place with 6,132, followed by William Patterson (N.J.) University in third and Webber International (Fla.) University. Midland (Mich.) University finished with 6,092 total pins to wrap up the top-five.
Chase Kaufman led the Blue Devils with 1,207 total knocked pins. He bowled games of 211, 143, 205, 205, 279 and 164 earning him a 60th place finish. Elliot Arnold followed him in 97th with a total pin fall of 1,166, bowling 204, 167, 176, 233, 174 and 212.
Kyle McGrath placed 105th with a pin count of 1,158 after throwing games of 167, 215, 166, 209, 232 and 169. Jerome Penxa II capped the tournament in 109th, recording a score of 1,155. Penxa II bowled a game high 213 in his first game.
Nick Guillemette finished in 351st knocking down 692 total pins through four games while Rob Karas bowled a 323 in two games.
The Blue Devils are back throwing strikes on February 18 as they host the WHAC Championships in Sterling Heights, Mich.
