SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team fell to No. 18-ranked Indiana Tech 72-55 on Wednesday night in Don Ridler Field House.
Lawrence Tech (14-12, 10-9) trailed early, falling behind 24-16 in the first quarter and 43-28 at halftime as LTU shot just over 37 percent from the field compared to 50 percent from Indiana Tech.
The Blue Devils were able to play the Warriors even in the third quarter, but the lead was still 15, 55-40 heading into the final 10 minutes. Indiana Tech was able to hold on for the 72-55 lead as they won the fourth quarter 17-15.
Lawrence Tech was led by Hayley Walkowski (JR/Marshall, MI) with 12 points and four rebounds while Danielle Hanson (FR/East Lansing, Mich.) finished with 11 points, three rebounds, and a block. Allison Kitchen (SR/Clio, MI) led LTU in rebounds with six.
Indiana Tech (20-6, 15-4) was led by Keanna Gary with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Haley Cook added 17 points and six rebounds. Taylor Seiss added 14 points in the win.
Lawrence Tech is back in action on Saturday, February 11 when they travel to Sylvania, Ohio to face Lourdes (Ohio) University. Opening tip is set for 1 p.m.
